Abstract

The article reports on major issues that affected the lives of indigenous peoples in Chile in 2018. Topics discussed include the reelection of Sebastián Piñera as president, the murder of Mapuche member Camilo Catrillanca and its impact on the inter-ethnic conflict between the state and the Mapuche people in Araucania, and the criminalization of indigenous protest.
