Abstract

The article presents information about the theatrical productions. Under the guise of contributions towards the study of the social evil, plays have been thrown on the stage which are abominable in their theme and still more abominable in their intention. "Plays of Old Japan: The Nō," by Marie C. Stopes is a little volume that embodies the hard "task of years" of a brilliant Englishwoman. The Nō pieces, of which four are here presented in English, were products of the simple literary taste of the warrior class of Japan in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries.
