Abstract
- Following results of large randomised control trials such as the CRASH-2 trial and MATTERs, tranexamic acid has now been included in the UK paramedics armamentarium for haemorrhagic trauma. The objective of this literature review is to use evidence yielded through a selection of search databases to explore the use of tranexamic acid for non-compressible haemorrhage, while relating such literature to UK paramedic practice. In doing so, this article highlights the benefit in using tranexamic acid for non-compressible haemorrhage and discusses potential recommendations for future paramedic practice.
