Abstract
- The article discusses the reception of the poetry of John Milton in China, and examines reasons why Milton's work is less popular in that country than the works of the dramatist and poet William Shakespeare including the difficulties of translating Milton and the less relatable nature of his work. The author's project of annotating Milton's work specifically for Chinese readers is also commented on.
