Abstract
- In August 2001, New York governor George Pataki announced the creation of the Saratoga Technology + Energy Park (STEP). STEP will be one of the first technology parks in the U.S. designated and designed exclusively for the research, development and light manufacturing of clean-energy products and processes. STEP is a joint effort of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the State University of New York at Albany and the Saratoga Economic Development Corp. The land is owned by NYSERDA, which also provides funding opportunities to support technology development and commercialization.
