Abstract

Inclusion criteria included singleton pregnancy between 15-42 weeks' gestation; no abnormal screening tests and phenotypically normal looking fetus. While performing a real time ultrasound examination, three dimensional ultrasound volumes were acquired with the fetus facing upwards, inclusive of both eyes and at least one ear. Lower ear border and ear canal distances from mid-eye horizontal line as well as ear length showed significant correlation with gestational age (p < 0.001 for all parameters).
