- Last year, I shared my optimistic view of the future of our industry, particularly for reinsurers that have the global reach and diversification across both life and non-life lines to remain relevant enough to maintain their market share and sustain their margins. Second, reinsurers are long-term partners with a partnership mindset that offer stability to L&H insurers. Regulation, local culture and language barriers are driving demand for highly localised products meaning that reinsurance buyers are generally local or regional, preferring reinsurers with a local presence, whether for service or regulatory reasons.
