Abstract

In this paper, a method for constructing a structural shape information model using laser scanning technology has been proposed. The scanner used in this experiment is the ScanStation C5, and this equipment is being used to scan a bridge structure in Sungkyunkwan University. The 3D model used has been constructed with the Voxel Grid System. In order to effectively store and manage this constructed 3D model, a shape information model has been constructed by applying the octree space division method. The constructed shape information model confirms that the data characteristics have been maintained when compared to the laser scanning data. This model has also greatly reduced the data size needed compared to that of TLS data, and has constructed an information system of internal node management with this data. The constructed shape information model can be used as an information model for structure maintenance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
