Abstract
- We report the first bromine-bridged dinuclear [Dy(Cy<subscript>3</subscript>PO)<subscript>2</subscript>(μ-Br)(Br)<subscript>2</subscript>]<subscript>2</subscript>·2C<subscript>7</subscript>H<subscript>8</subscript> single-molecule magnet with an effective energy barrier of 684 K and magnetic hysteresis below 3 K. The asymmetric Dy<superscript>III</superscript> centres present two unique stereoisomeric octahedral coordination environments depending on the cis/trans disposition of the Cy<subscript>3</subscript>PO ligands, leading to the orthogonality of the easy magnetic axes that annihilates the dipolar interactions.
