Peristomal skin disorders are common complications following colostomy in children, seriously affecting the postoperative quality of life. It is required to carry out active, effective and appropriate nursing interventions to improve the postoperative rehabilitation and quality of life in children. The peristomal skin disorders are caused by multiple factors including age, localization of the colostomy, type of the colostomy, inappropriate nursing and so on. This paper reviewed studies on peristomal skin disorders following colostomy in children and related nursing management, in order to provide reference for postoperative nursing of colostomy in children.
