Abstract
- The article offers information on the essayist De Quincey in his eassy "On Murder Considered as one of the Fine Arts " mixes examples from the Bible and Antiquity with murders having taken place not long ago in modern Britain. It mentions the mock-encomium would have been well-known to De Quincey, an accomplished classicist; and also mentions that De Quincey republished the series in volume four of the "Selections Grave and Gay."
