There are several individuals who have helped and supported the outgoing editor of "The Sociological Quarterly" in the United States. These include Ken Benson who have served as the associated editor, Peter Hall and Robert Habenstein, who served as the editor until 1971. Former associate and assistant editors Gary Dworkin, Marvin Leavy and Nancy Horne also contributed to the success of the periodical. The author also acknowledges the support of colleagues and the administration of the University of Missouri, Columbia. The editor wishes Jerry Gaston of the Southern Illinois University on his tenure as the new editor of the periodical.
