Planner queries community for opinions on growth.

William Pammer is the new commissioner of planning for Sullivan County, New York; one of the first things he's done at his new post is to reach out to individuals within the county seeking their input as they plan for and direct future development. Speaking from his Monticello office, Pammer said that he has categorized the results of five public meetings, held throughout July, attended by an estimated 500 citizens. Recurring themes were that "growth should not take place for growth's sake" and the Sullivan economy should not be dependent on casinos and tourism.
