Abstract
- The article focuses on the emphasize of poet Dante's Lucan on an opposition between Lucan and Virgil's the Divine Comedy. It mentions about the contrast between Roman Republican and Imperial values and also highlights a strongly biographical conception of the ancient epic canon that highlights the most controversial aspects of Lucan's life and the concept of his poetic rivalry with Virgil.
