Abstract

This article informs about the prizewinning poets, 1989. The winners of "Discovery"--"The Nation," 1989, are Debra Allbery, Wayne Koestenbaum, Rick Lyon and Gardner McFall. They will read their poems on Monday, May 8, at 8 P.M., at The Poetry Center, 92nd Street YM-YWHA in New York City. The contest was judged by Henri Cole, J. D. McClatchy and Jane Shore. Now in its fifteenth year, the competition combines the Discovery contest by The Poetry Center and the poetry prize by "The Nation." It is open to poets who have not published in book form. The above information is supplied by Grace Schulman, poetry editor.
