Abstract

The ground state (1S ) masses of the pseudoscalar (J<superscript>P </superscript>= 0<superscript>−</superscript>) and the vector (J<superscript>P</superscript> = 1<superscript>−</superscript>) D mesons are computed in the phenomenological framework of quark-antiquark potential (color-Coulomb plus screening confinement) model with a Gaussian wave function. The relativistic first-order correction O ( 1/m ) is incorporate to the potential energy term and the relativistic corrections to the kinetic energy term is included by expanding it up to O(p<superscript>10</superscript>) power. Our results are compared with the experimental measurements as well as the lattice and other theoretical predictions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
