Abstract
- Livestock animals are often exposed to various stress factors that stimulate oxidative processes in the tissues. Oxidative stress can cause cellular damage and often lead to the organs dysfunctions. Dietary antioxidants supplementation is helpful in the prevention of such disorders. Polyphenolic compounds belong to biologically active substances with anti-oxidative properties. Moreover, some polyphenols modulate immune functions and lipid metabolism. The aim of this paper was to present the aspects connected with polyphenolic compounds in swine nutrition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
