Abstract
- This article presents information on the attitude of the British press towards the United States. Although reporting must be designed to sell newspapers and appeal to large segments of the population, some of the material seems strangely selected. In the "American Column" that appears daily in the "Daily Express," the emphasis is on the odd pieces of news, insignificant happenings, human interest anecdotes. The pattern is similar, there is an initial case of misinformation or distortion of information, followed by reactions from outraged citizens and somewhere along the line, facts of the story are lost, misplaced or obscured.
