Abstract
- The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of cruciate mattress suture pattern on the healing of colotomy closure in conventional and laparoscopical surgery. Twelve adult local breed bucks apparently healthy were used, it was divided randomly into two equal main groups. In group A (Conventional group), the colotomy incision was created and closed by cruciate mattress suture pattern while in group B (Laparoscopic group), the colotomy closure by same pattern intracorporeally using 3-0 Polygalactin-910. Clinical follows up a long period of experiment and microscopic evaluation at 1 and 3 weeks post operation to evaluate the colotomy healing process. The results of clinical evaluation and physiological parameter indicate that there was no significant change and restore to the normal level within 2-3 and 3-4 post-operative days in group B and A respectively. Histopathological evaluation revealed that, advance healing in laparoscopic group when compared with conventional group. In conclusion, the study clearly demonstrated the healing process in laparoscopical technique superior to that occur in in conventional technique. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
