Abstract
- Peritoneal exudate cells from old NZB/Bl mice were found to be more active in taking up I<superscript>125</superscript> labelled bovine serum albumin than similar cells from age matched BALB/c, C57B1 and CBA mice. The cells from both young and old NZB/Bl mice were markedly less able to degrade the ingested antigen than cells from the other strains. These observations are discussed in relation to the development of autoimmune phenomena in the NZB/Bl strain, [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
