Abstract

The article deals with the evaluation of the influence of the cooling jacket design parameters of the low-speed stage of a long-stroke piston unit on the stress-strain state of the cylinder walls. The results of the analysis for a specific implementation of the cooling jacket design of the unit are presented, which show that the main contribution to the stress- strain state of the cylinder walls is provided by temperature loads due to the working process of gas compression. The resulting excessive heat load on the structural parts of the unit leads to the necessity to use an external cooling system. These results show the possibility of optimal design of the external cooling system of low-speed stages of piston units. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
