Abstract

Lysimachia nemorum is a rare plant that is included in “Red book of vascular plans from Romania” (Dihoru & Negrean 2009), in “Red list of superior plants from Romania” (Oltean et al 1994) and listed among “Endangered, vulnerable and rare vascular plants from Romanian’s forests” (Danciu et al 2007). Yellow pimpernel was not mentioned until now, in the specialized literature, in the Bucegi Mountains, although it had been identified and collected many years before. In addition to the species’ description and spread in Romania, the article presents the main site characteristics and the cenotic environment in which the population from Mălăiești Valley grows. At the same time, the size of the identified plant groups and the state of conservation of the population are evaluated. Finally, few brief recommendations are made regarding the management and monitoring of the species in the Bucegi Natural Park. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
