Abstract
- This section highlights several lectures and conferences in the education and literature fields in the U.S. from February to April 1989. The New York Public Library has planned a series of six lectures on World of Childhood: The Art and Craft of Writing for Children. It will be held throughout February and March at the Celeste Bartos Forum. On March 10-11, 1989, the Simmons College Symposium on Recruiting, Educating, and Training Cataloging Librarians: Solving the Problems will take place, funded by a grant from the Council on Library Resources. The keynote speaker will be Robert M. Hayes, dean of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of California, Los Angeles. The 10th Annual Sacramento Literature Symposium will be held on April 1, 1989 at the Dietrich Theatre, Sierra College, Rocklin, California. Its topic is Reading for the Love of It. Perspective in Children's Literature is the theme of a conference for teachers, librarians, writers, illustrators, parents and students, to be held at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst on April 8, 1989.
