Abstract

In this paper we are going to analyse the performance of boiler feed pump with varying.number of blades i.e, 6, 8 and 10,with suitable graphs and tables. Basically feed pumps are one of the essential parts of the boilers. The application of boilers where feed pumps are used includes industrial processes. A feed pump having a flow of 70kg/s, rotational velocity of 1800rpm and operating at 60 ° C is considered for the design and fluid flow analysis. Pump model is obtained from CATIA modelling software and design is developed using different pump parameters and CFD analyses is made using ANSYS modelling software. Variation of blades has a greater impact on the performance of the pump, thus based on the performance of each design the pump with greater performance is selected. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
