Abstract

Chapter 2 aims to explain analysis beyond the usual clichés frequently attached to it - which include tricky generalizations, such as "all analysis is the same", "all analysts think like I do", or "analysts are thinking machines." Bruce E. Pease dissects the complex world of intelligence analysis and the people and processes associated with this critical component of the intelligence process. The first topic seeks to explain the process of intelligence analysis and the challenges and constraints analysts face when moving from an analyst position to that of a leader and manager.
