Technological provision of diesel cylinder face endurance.

The article deals with maximization of diesel cylinder face endurance by development of technology to provide specified accuracy of cylinder face sizes and geometrical shape as well as surface roughness parameters in compliance with Abbot's diagram specified. The issue is complicated by nonuniform structure of metal casting and intricate geometric shape of cylinder cast surface cooling ribs which results in variable stiffness and instability of elastic deformations during cylinder machining. The problem is solved by optimization of technological process structure and replacement with a new, more precise and stiff equipment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
