Abstract
- To study the dynamic support characteristics of an auto-eliminating clearance auxiliary bearing (ACAB) after a rotor fall, this article proposes a parameter identification method based on the finite element method (FEM). First, a dynamic model of the magnetic suspension bearing–rotor system was established. Next, the support stiffness and damping matrices of the ACAB were deduced and the feasibility of identifying the support characteristics of the ACAB by the FEM-based method were verified in a simulation study. The ACAB support characteristics were also determined in an experiment. The unbalance response of the rotor was obtained under unbalance excitation, and the stiffness and damping values of the ACAB at various rotational speeds of the rotor were obtained by the FEM-based parameter identification method. Finally, the identification results were verified by comparing the theoretical and experimental data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
