Abstract

In the article, the author discusses the effectiveness of using harm reduction strategies in treating patients with severe and enduring anorexia nervosa (SEAN). Topics include a study by Andria Bianchi and colleagues on the use of said approaches by physicians to reduce the intensity, frequency and possible lethality of life-threatening or shortening behaviors by SEAN patients, and the six principles of harm reduction like humanism, individualism and pragmatism.
