Abstract

This article focuses on recreation in Atlanta, Georgia. Both sides of the Jones Bridge area of the Chattahoochee River, Georgia are prime locations for snatching rainbow trout from the river. Whether casting from the shore with a rod and reel or fly-fishing from the shoals, this stretch is almost guaranteed to yield fish for the frying pan. In 2002, residents of East Pointand local conservation groups won their two-year battle to save the Thomas W. Connally Nature Park, East Point from development, and now the rustic old-growth forest harbors some of the largest and oldest white oaks in the city.
