Abstract
- At first, Hebrew Holocaust literature for children was realistic with an emphasis on heroism and Zionist values yet transitioned in the 1980s to elusive descriptions about the survivor's feelings and personal story. This change strove to protect young readers from descriptions of violence and horror while making Holocaust literature universal. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
