Abstract
- On Taungurung Land: Sharing History and Culture: By Uncle Roy Patterson and Jennifer Jones. Equally, many New Zealand historians need to resume comparative studies with Australian race relations history, as some younger practitioners are currently doing, to help both nations build fairer and stronger multicultural societies, especially at a time when New Zealand is finally discarding the limitations of its colonial past by making the teaching of an honest and full New Zealand history compulsory in all of its schools. As someone who has worked on land settlement by white settlers and its impact upon the indigenous people of Aotearoa/New Zealand for a long time it has been interesting, if more than a little distressing, to read about the same subject in our nearest neighbouring country.
