Abstract

The article examines the opioid crisis in Canada which killed 207 Canadians from July 11 to 17, 2020. Topics discussed include the emergence of Ontario as the state with the highest number of overdose deaths, death of Christopher Powell-Irving in Ontario due to the fentanyl he consumed on July 11, and efforts of Tammy Gould to advocate for a Canadian equivalent of Casey's Law in the U.S. that allows parents to seek court-ordered drug treatment for their adult children.
