Abstract

Highly efficient ultra‐violet lighting sources have been developed by using the Transfer Mold micro‐protrusion cathode arrays. The intensities of UV emissions for the Transfer Mold micro‐protrusion cathode arrays are 1.6–1.9 times as high as those of flat‐type cathodes, because the discharge efficiencies are enhanced by the 1.4–1.9 times increase of the charge densities. The highly efficient UV lighting sources can be obtained by using the Transfer Mold micro‐protrusion cathode arrays. The discharge efficiencies of Transfer Mold micro‐protrusion cathode arrays can be enhanced by the size‐controlling of base lengths from 1.6 µm to 30 µm. Therefore, a highly efficient Transfer Mold micro‐protrusion cathode arrays can be expected to be applied to large area and flat‐type UV lightings to a great extent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
