Discussion of "New Models for Integrated Short-Term Forward Electricity Markets".

This article discusses various issues related to the article "New Models for Integrated Short-Term Forward Electricity Markets," by S. Hao and F. Zhuang, that was previously published in the May 2003 issue of the periodical "IEEE Transactions on Power Systems." In the article, New Models, in the analysis of the long -run behavior of the buyers in the face of uplifts, the authors conclude that the buyers would need to increase their bids in order to counter their loss in welfare. However, the article authors hold that uplifts need not be charged solely to the consumers, but rather also shared with the producers.
