Abstract

In the article, the authors discuss the need to improve water quality surveillance to ensure safe drinking water for all beyond national water quality surveys. Also cited are the study which analyzed United Nations International Children's Fund (UNICEF) Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) data of water quality in low- and middle-income countries, and the state of fecal contamination with escherichia coli (E. coli) of drinking water at point of use (PoU) and point of collection (PoC).
