Abstract
- Obtaining dermatologic data on the prevalence of different skin diseases across the Western Pacific region has been hampered by the paucity of dermatologists and dermatology clinics. In Fiji, inpatient hospital data have shown I skin and subcutaneous tissue i as the fifth most common cause of morbidity.1 Clinic data are an important tool in assessing the national skin disease picture and facilitating resource allocation. Additional data on the skin diseases seen in the outreach clinics and complex review dermatology clinics would further supplement the non-referral clinic data and help provide a better overall national picture. Methods A retrospective clinical audit was undertaken of patients who presented to the non-referred walk-in skin clinic at Tamavua Twomey Hospital, the national skin disease hospital in Suva, Fiji, between January and June 2019.
