Chronology characteristics of detrital zircon U-Pb with LA-ICP-MS of Yunmengshan Formation in Xionger Aulacogen and its geological significance.

Abstract

The Xiong'er Aulacogen has always been the focus of research on Mesoproterozoic-Neoproteror zoic strata in the North China Craton. By using the LA-ICP-MS method, this study focuses on U-Pb ages of detrital zircons from Yunmengshan Formation of Ruyang Group in Daimeishan of Henan. The harmonic-near harmonics and ages of the 80 zircons are obtained by using the LA-ICP-MS method. Results show that the detrital zircon ages of Yunmengshan Formation range from 1 700 to 2 724 Ma, the youngest being (1 700 ± 55)Ma and the main peak age is 2 083 Ma, the secondary peak age being 1 771 and 2 512 Ma. The lower age of Yunmengshan Formation is about 1 700 Ma. The provenance mainly comes from the rocks in the Early Mesoproterozoic or Paleoproterozoic, and the provenance from 2. 40 to 1.95 Ga is more. The peak age of deitrital zircons in this group of samples has a good response to the Precambrian geological events in North China Craton, corresponding to important geological events from Late Paleoproterozoic to Early Mesoproterozoic in North China Craton Basin.
