Examines the employment variables that are included in small business surveys conducted by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in the U.S. Survey measures of the NFIB that are related to the unemployment measure being computed by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics; Actual and predicted rates of unemployment from 2001 to 2004; Actual and predicted level of employment based on gross domestic product levels from 1990 to 2000.
