Abstract

The article introduces the EcoTeam Program intervention package, and discusses it from the perspective of earlier findings in environmental psychology regarding interventions to change environmental behavior. The program has characteristics that are directly related to central issues in the prevalent thinking about factors that encourage or inhibit pro-environmental behavior. The program was created to help reduce the feelings of inefficacy, uncertainty and inability, and to empower people to take action by stimulating them to focus on the positive side of their actions, that is to help them focus on what they can do instead of what they cannot do.
