Lead-free Sb-based polymer composite for -ray shielding purposes The Sb(20%) polymer resin composite is the best gamma ray attenuating sample among the others, due to the greater amount of Sb content especially if the photon energy level is low. From Figure 7, HVL is elevated with the increase in energy from 59.5 to 1408.0 keV, meaning that photons can easily penetrate through the polymer composites by increasing the photon energy.
