Abstract

The essay explores the presence of law and society in the works of English writer J. R. R. Tolkien. Topics covered include how the aspects of society, including the kingdom of Gondor are developed very differently among the different peoples, feudalism and nobility in Gondor, and the legal issues surrounding the princes of Dol Amroth, from the extent of their power to the very formulation of their title of nobility.
