Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected various social activities. One of them is social activities by citizens. In the symposium “Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Citizens’ Social Participation” in SRA Japan 34th Annual Meeting, four speakers presented researches about impacts of COVID-19 on activities by Japanese NGOs, NPOs, and volunteers. Maeda et al. (2021) reported the result of nation-wide survey of impacts on environmental NGO/NPOs. Asano (2021) showed the findings from interviews with environmental NGO/NPOs in Hiroshima prefecture. Inuzuka and Fukumori (2021) indicated results of surveys of citizen groups in Kawasaki. And Mori et al. (2021) discussed results of a series of surveys of volunteers in before-pandemic and during-pandemic conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
