Abstract

I The Economist's Craft i is a guide for navigating the research process in economics and as such is geared primarily towards doctoral students and early-career faculty. This book is excellent - the writing is clear and accessible, the discussions are well-focused and detailed, and I found my own professional experiences to be largely in line with the career guidance provided by Prof. Weisbach. I most appreciated the discussions of Ch. 12 about navigating the Ph.D. program: in my direct and observed experiences, Ph.D. students are frequently taught how to navigate the Ph.D. program by other Ph.D. students (often senior, though not always), often to one's own detriment.
