- Discusses oral interpretation in ancient literature and poetry before the eighteenth century. Basic model of recitation or reading aloud; Creation of poetry and its oral transmission were fused in ancient poetry; Attempts to restore or reformulate a theory encompassing interpretive acts in general or hermeneutics; Work by Milman Parry and Albert Lord in the study of illiterate Yugoslavian singers of epic tales.
