Abstract
- The authors reflect on the race-free estimation of kidney function by presenting a study on the estimated racial differences in risk of kidney failure and mortality when cystatin C is added and race is eliminated in the estimating equations. Also cited are the equations used like the Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI) and the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease equations.
