Abstract

For employees of organizations to be able to act innovatively during their work routine, they must have Innovation Competences (ICs) developed. However, the majority of studies within this research area focus on the identification and measurement of ICs and the audience of students from academic institutions. Therefore, the objective of this study is to build a tool that helps Brazilian companies in their collaborators’ ICs development. For this, the Design Science Research methodology was used, which allows finding solutions instead of explanations to problems, generating greater impacts, through the creation of an artifact. As a result, it was possible to come to the construction of the Innovation Competences Development Cycle (ICDCs), which allows the collaborators’ ICs development. It is possible to conclude that the tool was able to develop collaborators’ ICs, considering that this, after going through processes linked to the application of the tool, evidenced a series of new individual behaviors.
