Abstract

The article discusses about the concepts of Sovereignty and Humanity and puts emphasis upon the role of the sovereign in the twenty-first century. Topics discussed include the primary focus on James Madison with a glance at Alexander Hamilton and Immanuel Kant on sovereignty in republican government; the division of government into three branches, namely the legislative, executive, and judiciary, and an overview of Kant's Metaphysics of Morals, published in 1797.
