Abstract

The article presents the results of determining the compressive and flexural strength of non-autoclaved foam concretes made on the basis of microsilica and autoclaved aerated concretes made with the use of fly ash with different average densities. It is known that a decrease in the average density of the material due to an increase in porosity leads to a decrease in its mechanical characteristics. The dependence of the strength of cellular concrete on its average density can be expressed by empirical formulas linking the average values of compressive or flexural strength and the average density. Many researchers offer formulas that express the relationship between the strength and the average density of cellular concrete. However, none of them is universal, suitable for all types of domestic and foreign concrete. In this paper, the authors experimentally derived the equations of the dependences of the mechanical characteristics of cellular concretes on their average density and porosity in the range of average densities for foam concretes from 400 kg/m<superscript>3</superscript> to 1000 kg/m<superscript>3</superscript>, for aerated concretes from 450 kg/m<superscript>3</superscript> to 700 kg/m<superscript>3</superscript>.
