Abstract

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been reported in recent years, but their synthesis conditions are often difficult. Herein, a rapid and simple synthesis of a new luminescent COFs at room temperature was obtained. By using the Aggregation-Induced Emission (AIE) chromophore ligand, 4ʹ,4‴,4‴ʺ-nitrilotris(([1,1'-biphenyl]-4-carbaldehyde)) (NBC-CHO), to link p-phenylenediamine through imide bonds, it successfully prepared NBC-PPDA. All the analysis testified NBC-PPDA is a new 2D ordered mesoporous material. The nitrogen atoms and pores in NBC-PPDA can provide coordinate points and passages for metal ions. Noticeable, the AIE core make NBC-PPDA showed a good naked-eye selectivity on low concentrations of Fe<superscript>3+</superscript> within ppm level. It means NBC-PPDA is a good fluorescence sensor for Fe<superscript>3+</superscript> ions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
