Abstract

An experiment was conducted during 2015-16 and 2016-17 at Agriculture Research Farm, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi to know the field bio-efficacy of certain new molecules insecticides against gram pod borerHelicoverpa armigera (Hubner) in chickpea. Chickpea variety PUSA 362 was sown in both the consecutive years .Treatments under trial were found significantly superior to control the gram pod borer . During experimental years 2015-16 & 2016-17 observations on overall mean larval population after first, second and third insecticidal sprays showed a lowest larva population on plots treated with Indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 60 g a.i./ha followed by Spinosad 45 SC @ 75 g a.i./ha, Flubendamide 39.35 SC @ 50 g a.i./ ha,Emamectin benzoate 05 SG @ 11 g a.i./ha,Novaluron 10 EC @ 100 g a.i./ha,Bacillus thuriengesis @ 1000 g a.i./ha and HaNPV @ 500 L.E. The range of the yields was in between 7.50 q/ha to 13.45 q/ha. The highest yield (13.45 q/ha) was recorded in Spinosad 45SC treatment and the lowest yield (7.50 q/ha) was recorded from Bacillus thuringensis treated plot. Similarly in 2016-17 of experimental year the range of the yields was in between 7.96 q/ha to 14.45 q/ha. The highest yield (13.45 q/ha) was recorded in Spinosad 45SC treatment and the lowest yield (7.50 q/ha) was recorded from control plot. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
